Accolades
-
Crescent Communities was named 2004 Developer of the Year by the
Sales & Marketing Council of the HomeBuilders Association of
Charlotte. The company was presented with a Major Achievements
in Marketing Excellence (MAME) award.
-
“Highgrove blends upscale, custom homes with nostalgia.
From old-fashioned, wraparound verandas and stone chimneys on the exterior,
residents can go inside to find Corian and granite countertops, cappuccino-finished
cabinets, built-in computer stations and entertainment centers. Homes
in Highgrove offer architectural diversity with a guarantee that no two
houses look alike. Styles include Charleston/Lowcountry, French Country,
Colonial, Georgian, Cape Cod, Williamsburg, Federal, English Country
and Tudor.” – South Charlotte Weekly
-
“Highgrove has short connecting streets rather than cul-de-sacs
and two houses per acre. Sidewalks wind through the neighborhood on both
sides of the street. The Summer Club, at the center of the community,
is no more than a five-minute walk from the farthest house. It has a
clubhouse, swimming pool, two tennis courts and landscaped play areas.
The Creek Ramble, a 5.25-acre park, forms the eastern boundary of the
subdivision. Highgrove Park, a 1.25-acre neighborhood park, is on the
western edge near the entrance.” – The Charlotte Observer
-
Highgrove was chosen as the site of the 2002 HomeArama, the
HomeBuilders Association’s annual home show extraordinaire. According
to The Charlotte Observer, “HomeArama planners this year started
with three goals: They wanted to offer architectural diversity, to make
sure each home was designed uniquely for its lot and to provide inviting
outdoor spaces in relatively small yards … they nailed all
three.”

Builder Jocelyn Dienst and her team were honored with a BALA
award (Best in American Living Award) by Professional Builder magazine.
Dienst won a Silver Award in the category “Best One-of-a-Kind Spec
Home up to 4,000 Square Feet.” Named “The Magnolia,” this
home in Highgrove was designed by Carolina Design Group. Distinguished
by its wraparound veranda on both the upper and lower levels, this home
harkens back to homes from an earlier era – where outdoor spaces
were used to welcome and entertain guests. Well-suited to an active family,
there’s a centrally located kitchen that opens onto an informal
dining area and den, creating a “casual zone” where families
will naturally congregate. A main-level owners’ suite is another
plus.
-
“The extension from Ardrey-Kell Road from U.S. 521 to
Providence Road on Highgrove’s southern edge greatly improved its
visibility and accessibility. Residents now have a choice of driving … to
shopping and services via Ardrey-Kell to Rea Road (1 mile) and Providence
Road (3.5 miles) … Both sides of the street … are planted
with hardwood trees and lined by sidewalks. Amenities include three private
parks, a clubhouse, a swimming pool, tennis courts and landscaped play
areas.” – Doug Smith, The Charlotte Observer business columnist
